Having lived in Knoxville all of my life, I’ve always been personally awed by the spectacular beauty of the mountains and lakes that surround us. So I’m not really sure why it surprised me when I started receiving more and more inquiries from out of state couples planning a destination wedding in East Tennessee. I have to admit that I was a little nervous in the beginning about booking weddings with couples that I have only talked with by phone. For better or worse, I’m a relational photographer at heart. I like to meet face to face, I enjoy engagements sessions and most importantly, I want to meet your dog. But Ashley & Tyler are perfect examples of why I had nothing to fear. This fantastic couple were the epitome of welcoming and easy to be with. Their friends and family were chocked full of shenanigans that kept us laughing all day. By the end of the evening I felt as if I’d known them for years. To say a fun time was had by all seems like an understatement but indeed a fun time was had!
I’ve also learned a wonderful thing about destination weddings along the way. Every single guest in attendance has cleared their schedules, packed their bags and traveled long distances because they would never dream of being anywhere else than in this place, at that moment, celebrating with the couple they love. Can you get more relational than that? And every once in a while, I still get to meet the dog!
I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to the AMAZING staff of The Magnolia and the incredibly HARD WORKING wedding professionals on hand for Ashley & Tylers big day. You can find links to them all below!
